A little {SAS}sy Blog Hop

If my blog is the first place you have visited…welcome! To make sure you don’t miss out on any of the blogs in the {SAS}sy Blog Hop I suggest you start at the beginning by visiting at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking and then work your way around the rest of the blogs.

I would like to share with you two ways to use some of your ribbon stash on your layouts.

I used the Daisy ribbon from Adornit found in the store at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking to make these ribbon flowers. It comes in several colors that would make beautiful flowers, I'm using the orange ribbon .

Using cardstock punch a circle the size you want your flower. Cover the whole area with adhesive. I used Art Accents Terrifically Tacky Tape.

Fold the end of the ribbon under to hide the raw edge, then start twisting the ribbon going around and around the circle.

When you get to the outside, leave a little tail to wrap around to the back. You then can embellish them any way you want. I added some Queen & Co. Rox "Classy Reds" for the centers.

The second flower is a ribbon fringe flower. The ribbon must be grosgrain and wider works best. I'm using Bazzill 7/8" Black Dashed Ribbon.

To make the flower, trim off one side edge salvage.

Run a baisting stitch along the uncut edge. Pull the stitches up to gather your flower and cut the ribbon the approximate length you want.

Then start pulling out threads to make the fringe.

Pull the threads together to create a circle and tie off. Add a center to your flower - I used Queen & Co. Rox "Classy Reds".

Scrap Attack Scrapbooking will be donating prizes from all comments left on all participating blogs so make sure and comment so you are eligible to win! As a {BONUS} there is a hidden word on each blog that can be pieced together to make a familiar {SAS}sy phrase. If you can unscramble the words to make this phrase you could win a $50 gift certificate to the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking store. For more details on the prizes, please see the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking blog.

Here is your word: the

Hopefully you're enjoying the {SAS}sy Blog Hop this week. Your next stop on the blog hop is Beth on July 18.

Sketchy Thursday

This layout is done using a sketch found on the Sketchy Thursday blog. The papers are Scrap Within Reach Cambridge Collection and Daisy D's. I made a pocket to store DH's report card. The center of the flower is made by cutting out 3 circles, folding them up and gluing them together. Thank you Dana for the tutorial. Thank you for stopping by.

July DT layouts

In my Design Team kit from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking this month, I received the full line of October Afternoon "Fly A Kite" along with some SEI textured cardstock, Bo Bunny Wasabi Double Dot Cardstock and a sheet of Jillibean Soup "Red Sugar". I had a fabulous time working with these papers and the fun embellishments to add the dimension. I love the Prima Blue Songbird Vine and the "Travel Clocks" Transparency by Teresa Collins.

Making these layouts was bitter sweet, I loved the products, but kept reminding myself this was my last kit - it's been a fabulous year and I have enjoyed the time on the team. Thank you Lauri for allowing me to be a part of your team!!!

Christmas Cards for Troops

When I printed off the poinsettia for a card challenge, I filled up the page. Yesterday, I got them colored, sprayed with Spritz and put together. I did 2 more just like this one.

You can get this free download (and several others) from Beccy's Place.

Ad challenge for July

My term on the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking Design Team is winding down and this is my last Ad Challenge.

I used some Fancy Pants and Moxxie papers. The journaling spot is from Chatterbox.

Christmas Cards for Troops #9

Our last challenge is to use ribbon on our card. Here is my card. I personally think if you don't know what kind of embellishment to add - try ribbon.

Christmas Cards for Troops #8

For the next challenge we were to use a Christmas card we've received or made in the past and give it a fun facelift!

I loved the pretty embossed paper, so used that portion only and kept the card very simple. Added the punched border, bling, chipboard from Scenic Route and ribbon from my stash.

I used Pink Paislee Amber Road

The other card was done using My Minds Eye Warm Asparagus.
