vertical journaling

I did this layout for the Journaling Challenge on {SAS} message board. We were to journal vertically using more than 3 words. I used the Tiny Chocolate Adornit alpha stickers I got at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking and put them along side of the paper I'd used for my title. The scalloped edge on the pink Scenic Route paper was created with the Stampin Up! scallop punch. Then highlighted with the red Sakura glaze pen. I used the black glaze pen to create the framing lines on the picture.

full of sass

We waited in line 45 minutes to see the fairies at WDW Magic Kingdom; no wonder they are building a special area just for them! Every little girl wants to be there. We go through a corridor that shrinks us down so we can actually see the fairies - how cute is that! I used the embossed cardstock, thickers and Prima journling piece I got at the SAS store. I got the RW Laser Cut TinkerBella in a drawing on the message broad - added some Shimmerz also from the store.

Hungry Ghost Day

These pictures of our oldest DD in 1975 weren't in the best shape, but just to cute not to scrap. The bat was cut from some pp, I used the Sakura glaze pens from the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking store to highlight the edges and facial features, then added the "google eyes". This LO was done for the Wacky Holidays listed on the SAS message board.

Great day for Ducks

I did this layout for the Scrapbook Play Challenge on Scrap Attack Scrapbooking - we were supposed to do a layout with top to bottom orientation and add some sparkle and shine. These are pictures from when my sister and family were here in August of 2008 - Hurricane Fay sat right over our area for several days. The bad part was we were soaked every day and couldn't do the boat tour we'd planned; the good part was it kept the wait times in lines shorter. I used some Basic Grey Archaic pp and Tim Holtz Distress Stickles on my title letters for my sparkle and shine. I've just about used up my "Scattered Straw" - I love that color!

Color Challenge

The color challenge on Scrap Attack Scrappbooking this month was red and blue with accents of white. This was a tough one for me - but I think this picture of my Mother-in-Law worked perfectly with some of the papers I pulled together. I'll add the date when I get it confirmed.

Scrapbook Play challenge

For the Scrapbook Play Challenge on Scrap Attack Scrapbooking, we were to use a found item on our layout. I chose some packing material I'd gotten when I purchased a vase. I loved the extra texture it had.
I remembered the technique from 52 sketches 52 weeks had on their site a while back using a brown paper bag to create a branch. You just need some paper, several inks and Mod Podge. It was a fun way to add some texture to my layout.

ad challenge

One of the fun things about being on a Design Team for Scrap Attack Scrapbooking is I am to come up with an Ad challenge each month.
For September I chose the above ad - here is my
layout. We have a variety of new challenges posted monthly - hope to see you on the message board.

September DT kit

For my Scrap Attack Scrapbooking DT kit this month I received the fun line of Jillibean Lentil Soup, Journaling Sprouts and some October Afternoon Cherry Hill which blended beautifully. The large sunflower pp was perfect for some fussy cut embellishments.
