Smoochin' in the garden

Sketch #87 from My Scraps & More Sketch blog.

This is also for the Got Talent challenge #8 on My Scraps & More Forum.

We were to scrap a "selfie", not something I do very often, but took these on our trip this summer.  Also supposed to use up old stash, that wasn't a problem.  I pulled out my Basic Grey, plenty of scraps to choose from.

Photo Bloopers

Sketch #86 from My Scraps & More Sketch blog.  Also for the "Got Talent 2014" challenge on the My Scraps & More forum - use "it's all good" which I placed along the bottom with an old recipe I fussy cut from some pp.

This is the last layout for a vacation  to SD in 2010!  Always excited to finish a book.

Battle of the Books

They had 4 schools attending with 4 rounds. Thornebrooke Elementary won every round!!! Katie's comment was "we are the 1st to have won 1st" I was really proud of her for studying the books and being able to answer the questions so well as a team. But, the best part was she went over and talked to the other teams, saw very few kids doing that!

Thanks for looking, just had to share another proud Grandma moment.

Hours and Hours of volunteering

The Drama Club at school puts on two plays a year.  They started practices after school in February!  Yesterday was THE day of the play "Princess Whats Her Name".  They performed at 9:30 for the pre-K - 2rd graders; 1:30 for the 3rd - 5th graders and 6:00 for the public.  I was there all day helping with costumes, make-up and hair on over 70 performers!  It was a wild and crazy day, the kids did an awesome job, with most of them being on stage for the first time.  Katie was "a lady in waiting"and part of the chorus.  Drama isn't her first love, but I am so proud of her for giving it her all.  There wouldn't be much of a musical without the strong chorus belting out the song I still having going through my head.  :)

On another note, the lady looking at the camera is Mrs. Yokel, one of the directors.  Surprised she doesn't look a little bit more stressed out.

Bless Our Family

My Scraps & More Sketch Blog #79  which I adapted to a 6 X 12 for an album of older photos of Jim's family.  His parents are both gone and I want to make sure our girls and their families know their history.

Jim would be 4 years old here and his Mom is 2 months along with his little brother.  Hopefully she didn't have much morning sickness, since this would have been quite a car trip from South Dakota to Washington for the family reunion.  It is in a National Park which would be a beautiful place for a reunion.

I've also posted this on the My Scraps & More forum, challenge May 1 - create background on cardstock and pp 2+ years old.

The papers are Basic Gray "Mellow" collection.  Orange butterfly is fussy cut.   I stamped and masked/misted/splattered the butterflies on the background.

Thank you for stopping by.

Teacher appreciation

We decorated Mrs. Giufre's door on Monday.  Her favorite snack is goldfish crackers, so....just had to make that work in with our sign.  LOL   Being a room Grandma does keep me busy.  I decorated the Art and Drama room doors, but forgot to take photos.  ACK.....maybe they are still up, will have to check.
I lifted the design from Lisa's Scrappy Hideaway.  Changing the butterflies to apples.  I made a pack of these for Katie to give to her teacher on Friday.  These were a great way to use up some scraps.

Mother's Day

I am so lucky to live close enough to our two daughters and granddaughter to be able to spend Mother's Day with them.  Melissia and Travis hosted a delicious grilled dinner in their new home.  Jennifer and Katie brought the yummy dessert :).  Love you girls.

There are lots of fun labels in this package!

Here is the layout I created:

I used Magic Mesh as a stencil and added light modeling paste to the kraft arrow. Once it was dry, I painted it with watercolors.

The kraft tags, I dry embossed and used them as a base for my photos:

I also used these items which can be found in the My Scraps & More Store on my page:

May your Christmas be merry & bright

Another layout from the My Scraps & More Sketches blog #75 AND it's #4 at My Scraps & More forum crop, we needed to add stitching - I stitched down the middle of the blocks.

Background cardstock and light pink pp is from Love Elsie, so sorry they aren't around anymore, loved their textured cardstock!  The ornament pp is from Crate Paper.  The embellies are from Echo Park, Fancy Pants and a few unknown since I've cut the names off :)
