Top ten - December

My last and final post of my favorites from the year 2009. I chose this layout I did with an older picture of Jim's Dad, Julius. He passed away only a few months after this picture was taken, so it's a real treasure to our family. I loved using this Pink Paislee line and the Prima Cherry Blossom was the perfect fit.

Top ten - November

I did this Thanksgiving layout to include a family recipe that I received from Jim's mother and have made it for every holiday since we've been married. I love the way I clustered the flowers, chipboard and bling.

Top ten - October

This was a tough month to decide a favorite. I did this layout with my SAS DT kit. This is a picture of our youngest DD and me at Epcot with the holiday decorations. I love the rich colors in this kit and the beautiful varnished and textured papers. This is one of those layouts that I started with a sketch, but by the time I was done, there wasn't much similarity. I added some Shimmerz to the green ring which gave it an almost frosty look.

Top ten - September

Another layout using the Scrap Attack Design Team kit - Lauri sends some of the best products to work with and every month I'm thrilled with my layouts. I chose this layout because it is a good memory of our (Jim and my) trip to Disneyland. I love the Basic Grey die-cut paper and the beautiful crystal flourish - made a fun page for our picture with Minnie.

Top ten - August

I had to choose this layout for 2 reasons - this was the 1st of my Scrap Attack Scrapbooking Design Kits and I love, love, love working with Basic Grey. The best part was I didn't have to fussy cut the flower around the title, it's Die-cut paper Basic Grey puts out that matches their Lemonade line.

Top ten - July

I used the same {SAS} kit as the June layout; this time using some of the velvet paper that I fussy cut. love the bright colors on this one.

Top ten - June

I got some tulle in a {SAS} kit and first time I used it on a layout.

Top ten - May

I scrapped pictures from my 1st birthday in May. I love the vintage feel this Basic Grey line gives to the layout. I did a lot of fussy cutting and used pop dots for the dimension. This was one of the first times I'd used Shimmerz - I painted it on the plastic letters "wish" and the butterfly.

Top ten - April

I played around with photo editing after learning a little more during the SSU class on Scrap Attack Scrapbooking.

Top ten - March

I've started using bling more on my layouts and circles are starting to show up more and more.

Top ten - February

I love this layout of my husband, Jim and me at our nephew's wedding. I tried to leave some of the beautiful paper uncovered - sometimes those backgrounds shouldn't be covered up. And love the big die-cut butterfly by Crate Paper.

Top Ten in 2009 - January

I got an idea from my friend and fellow DT member of Scrap Attack Scrapbooking that I just HAVE to follow through with. She suggested {or maybe it was more of a challenge} posting your personal TOP TEN favorites of your own work in 2009...kind of a year in review. I LOVE this idea, thanks Misty! I counted 236 layouts this bear with me as I try to narrow it down to my TEN favorites.

here's my January layout - I love the distressed chipboard star I made into a star fish and the little cluster of punched circles.

December DT reveal

Lauri sent me Pink Paislee Amber Road line. I haven't worked with a full line of Pink Paisley in my DT kit before and I have to say it is fun stuff. I loved the matching punch outs, clear border stickers and Post Card paper.
If you have some fall pictures to scrap this is the line you need to add to your Scrap Attack Scrapbooking wish list.
The Prima Cherry blossoms worked perfectly with this paper line.
The punch outs were great as the title, layering under the title, journaling and embellies.

December Ad challenge

If you like working with scrapbook challenges, I challenge you to check out the message board on Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. This month I posted this ad for the Ad Challenge.

For this challenge, you need to make a layout using the following ad as your inspiration. You can choose the colors, the layout, the theme or any other elements that you see in the ad. The only rule is that it must resemble this ad in some way.

Here's my
sample layout.
