SATW - French artist

One of the games at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking is Name the French Artist. Dana gave us a lot of hints along with 7 paintings. For a bonus ticket we were to select one or more of the paintings as inspiration to a layout. I chose painting #6, I loved the colors and the lady and girl in their hats with all the flowers; it reminded me of these pictures we'd taken of Katie with her friends at her Kindergarten Easter party.

SATW - Destiniation #4 France

Our next destination for the Scrap Around the World crop is France. We were to add some quilling to our layout. I've never done this before, but it was pretty fun. I kept it simple and added two leaves and a swirl to my flower cluster. I you would like more information on quilling, check out this wonderful webpage Inna's Creations. She has several tutorials and lots of inspiration.

Never underestimate the power of a beautiful flower girl

I did this layout for a Scrapbook Play Challenge on Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. We were to use pictures taken at different times, but have a unified theme. I've been wanting to do a layout of the flower girl pictures from our family. The first one is me, our oldest DD (Jennifer), second DD (Melissia) then our granddaughter (Katie). Styles may change, but flower girls will always be cute!

Croppy Cat

I lifted this layout from Misty {mommyof5kidz}.
I used the pocket for our annual Christmas letter. I love this Basic Grey line.

SATW - Destination #3 Italy

Our next stop on our Scrap Around the World tour is Italy. We are to do a leaning photo strip to resemble the leaning tower of Pisa and a circle cluster to resemble grapes. Here's my layout of our then 1 year old granddaughter playing in the spa with our daughter.

SATW - Destination #2 Ireland

For our Scrap Around the World challenge #2, we were to use an Irish Proverb and a clover. I chose the proverb "what fills the eye also fills the heart". I used some Clearsnaps Smooch Spritz gingersnap on the background - I love how it gives it some shimmer IRL.

Scrap Around the World - Destination #1 Germany

Our Scrap Around the World is in full swing at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking. The first stop is Germany with an ad challenge. Here's my layout. I got a thumbs up from both Katie and Jim on this one. :) I used some Clearsnap Smooch Spritz Gingersnap Spray on the paper and the chipboard flourish after I'd inked it with gray and black. I need to get more of those sprays, they add so much to the papers.

March DT layouts

My Design Team kit this month from Scrap Attack Scrapbooking was filled with Cosmo Cricket papers - "Material Girl" and a piece from "Garden Variety" lines. I also received a bottle of Plum Pudding Shimmerz Spritz - a great way to add some color to papers and embellishments. I did some masking, painted the paper flowers with it and sprayed it on a texture stamp. I loved working with this line and know you would too!

SSU 5 #4 Getting Messy with Alcohol Inks

Have you purchased some of the Ranger Alcohol Inks, but never knew what to do with them? During the class at Scrap Attack Scrapbooking, Getting Messy with Alcohol Inks Nadine showed us several techniques on ways to use the inks on our layouts and cards. I used some Lettuce, Eggplant and a bit of metallic green to create my camouflage piece for this layout of my BIL at Disney MGM Studios.

card sketch

This month of Scrap Attack Scrapbooking our card challenge was a sketch. Here's my card using some k*i blocked paper, ric rak and some flower brads.
